We are so proud of the work we have already accomplished at Friends of Clear Creek.

Here is some information about some of our amazing accomplishments, some history on Hans Berg, an FOCC founder whose life left a deep imprint on us all, and of course, some amazing photos of wildlife in our area.
DOUGLAS MOUNTAIN PLATEAU
The Douglas Mountain Plateau is now officially owned by Colorado Park and Wildlife for the sole purpose of preserved Wildlife Habitat. Check out the official press release for more details....
DEFEATING THE GRAVEL PIT!
The Douglas Mountain Ranch Mine aka "The Gravel Pit" was to be a sand and gravel mine which would have spread out over 77.5 acres of activity on a 170 acre total site just outside of Empire.
Hans Berg
We owe much of our early success to one of our founding members and visionary, Hans Berg. His passion for the environment and spirit of adventure inspired the formation of the group and he led the charge until his untimely death in March of 2019.
